  1.  My first reaction to this story is that it takes human colonization on different planets and puts a new twist on it, saying that the only reason we are allowed to live there is because we make for excellent egg bearers. And it puts a normally female role (bearing children) and puts it from a male perspective.
  2. I personally couldn't really connect with this story aside from the main character being a male. i have never been in a situation or scenario like the one displayed in the story. One connection I made with this story is that it seems similar to the struggle of many African-American slave woman who we forced to accept the "eggs" from there slavers, in this instance the Tlic.
  3.  If I were to make this story a film I would probably use the same form of filming as 12 Years a Slave used to portray a superior and inferior dynamic between the Tlic and the Terrans, while using a District 9 style of segregation since the Terrans live on almost Native American style of preserves.

The difference of the western and eastern horror

There are many differences between the eastern and western cultures in terms of literature and art. The horror genre is definitely no exception. In many Japanese horror stories, this example being A Wild Sheep Chase, they often blend in magical realism and some mystery giving the reader a sense of anticipation and anxiety. In more western horror stories we are often introduced not to a specifically magical realism, but the idea of an afterlife and more often the idea of the undead. Western horror, although thrillers are a sub-genre of horror, do not always give the reader the same anxiety that an eastern horror story would. Space Opera

The Martian takes place in the year 2035 and features a lone astronaut stranded on Mars and he must use what little he has left to survive until his rescue. This book plays on many science fiction and lone surviver tropes such as he's a trained engineer and botanist so he can build and grow what he needs to survive if stranded, yet he's injured so it makes survival that much harder. This is of course until NASA discovers he is left stranded and puts together a rescue team to go save him. This book is filled with many more of these tropes. In the end he survives and makes it home on the ship Hermes and then recalls his tale to the team who rescued him.

Interview with a Vampire

In the story  Interview with a Vampire , we see the relationship between two adult vampires and one child whom they bit. There are three relationships portrayed in those three characters, one between Louis de Pointe du Lac and Lestat, Lestat and Claudia, and Louis and Claudia. The relationship between Louis and Lestat is complex in that Lestat is the reason why Louis is a vampire so Louis feels some animosity towards him and at the same time he was dependent on him as he did not know how to be a vampire in the beginning of the book. And yet the reason why Louis was bitten was because Lestat wanted his company. This was also the reason he had to turn the little girl, Claudia, into a vampire. It was to prevent Louis from leaving his company since now they had a sort of "daughter" together. Lestat's relationship with Claudia is that of a mentor more than a father figure which is the opposite of the relationship between Claudia and Louis as he tries to be more of a father fig...
