Witchy woman
Witches, until the introduction of warlocks, have always been a uniquely female role in fantasy and myth. It shows women who have power yet often in a negative way since witches historically have been evil satan worshippers who murder people and steal livestock for their dark rituals. Although lately, this is taking a turn in recent years since witches are starting to be seen as more fighters of demons and not satan worshippers. This incidentally follows the social trend of women in power in todays society. Women in powerful positions are becoming and have become the norm in many cultures around the world. So the concept of the witch or any other woman in power is become less and less of a scary thought.
Thats true. There's rarely a moment where a witch is seen as scary or just viewed as negative in general. And sometimes witches were also referred to as attractive - or 'bewitching', excuse my pun. But i think a common thing in both the original negative version of witches and the strong women role as witches, they are both seen as strong and powerful in being able to overcome some obstacles or simply to fight back.
